Oh Tumblr Kids

Quote from “Aspirins & Alcohol” by Last Days of April

I find it so humorous that you can turn an average looking picture of anything, add a hipstamatic/vintage lighting effect, & an “emotional” quote in Helvetica (it’s a font), then post it on Tumblr, & get a bunch of followers or reposts. So when I for some reason browse someone’s Tumblr & see that they’re actually blogging about their life & not actually posting a random picture, I think, “FACEPALM!”

Try WordPress, Blogger, LiveJournal, &/or Xanga to blog. Post random images or short quotes/thoughts on Tumblr. Way to fail at being a hipster/16-year-old fangirl.

Regardless, if you steal that picture I posted without crediting, I’LL END YOU.

Yeah I think Tumblr should be used for reblogging awesome pics and quotes and/or like them. Do you have Tumblr?

Nope, I don’t really see the need for one since I have my own website. I just browse my friends’ Tumblrs when I’m bored. :P

DUDE, I feel the same way. Bahaha. People get SO many followers/notes on their photo that has a small effect and text across it. SMH. That’s why I left blogging on Tumblr and bought a domain. Too many people reblog and don’t blog.

About the Crest White Strips : I’m actually going to start using it for 15-20 minutes instead of 30 minutes. Thanks for the tip!

AHAHA yeah. I got a picture of my messy desk right, and wrote in Helvetica, “give me your autograph”. It was the shit. It’s pretty funny though. I think it got old quick. I made a new Tumblr in November and just as predicted, half a year later, I’m already sick of it. XD

Yeahh girll! You were the one that showed me that picture, right? Or was it Kevin? The one that was take any picture + vintage lighting + helvetica = boom, tumblr pic.

Anyway, I do admit that I will browse a few people’s Tumblrs if I see it. They do repost some funny shit, but most of them are just like the ones we mentioned.

I share the same sentiment! Though honestly, tumblr had changed dramatically since I last went there. I actually did some pretty serious blogging out there for quite some time in 2009 for a year or so but then, these days and these kids, damn, they started making me feel like an idiot serious blogging in a place that is now “intended” for the “hipsters” and 16-year-olds. funny. Now I’m thinking about deleting my account. lol.

I don’t have a Tumblr, but don’t delete your account if you follow people that repost things that make you lulz!! :) It has changed since it first started. Definitely all the kids from MySpace are invading it. Lots of fangirldom there. I don’t understand the mindset of a fangirl. How do you invest so much love into something sooo insignificant?!

I know how you feel! It’s funny when people on there say that they are blogging and they write a text post with like 2 sentences .____. I mean I’m on tumblr to reblog things but they don’t know real blogging!

hahaha I find it more strange that people actually blog blog on Tumblr instead of just reposting stuff they find funny/amusing/what-have-you. It’s really become a place for silly reposts.

I suppose 2 sentence blogs are better than a huge tirade about how person A is a total dick to person B & they ruined everything by xyz.
