La Vie en France

Mussels in White Wine Sauce, Escargots, & Bread

What better way to start off this post with a picture of food we ate in France? We went a few weeks back, but I just finally got around to posting the 500+ pictures. The most image heavy being the Paris album since we went there on Bastille day. Pictures from Venice, Rome, & London later. I have a paper, presentation, & learning journal to complete by Thursday. I’m also adventuring to Amsterdam & Belgium this weekend. Like always, hover over the pictures for a caption.

Paris

Ahhh Paris, the city full of delicious food, pick pocketers, scammers, & some of the biggest jerks you’ll ever meet.

Versailles

One of the most breathtakingly beautiful man-made gardens & palace on this planet. Absolutely majestic.

Montmartre

Amazing food & an amazing view. Friendly waiters too. We ate at a little restaurant called Le Deli’s & it was amazing.

Nearly 500 Newly Added Pictures

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I know I certainly am.

Ahhh I’m beyond jealous right now, Tiff!!! The food pictures are making me drool!!! Those are some of the chubbiest french fries I’ve ever seen. They’re sorta cute… haha XD Anyway, Versailles really reminds me of Long Wood Gardens in Pennsylvania. Have you ever been there? it’s super pretty and all the flowers and trees have interesting shapes too, like Versailles. I guess it’s a good way to get a little taste of Versailles right from home :D Paris looks so interesting too! I’ve seen a similar locks thing in Korea. Is it where couples write their names and lock it onto the fence? & is that the original Mona Lisa? :O

I’ve never been to Pennsylvania before, but trust me, nothing compares to Versailles. There are tons of gardens. I only explored like 2 with my friends. There were so many & we couldn’t even explore it all in the 3 hours we were given. It was nuts. The palace itself is absolutely luxurious. It’s a shame I couldn’t go inside it on our tour though. It’s because the gardens itself were enough to keep you occupied. But, I did just google Longwoods garden. Gorgeous, but seriouslyyyyy, no comparison. Hahaha.

Yes! The bridge is for lovers to write their names on locks & place it on the bridge & throw the key over the water so that they’ll be together forever.

& yes, it is the original Mona Lisa. It’s housed in the Louvre. Absolutely breathtaking in person, even if it isn’t very large. It was my second time seeing it too!

And enjoying making us jealous too. xD

Man those escargots look lovely. I’ve always wondered what they tasted like, haha.

Love the gardens and your blue dress is a lovely colour :)

Not gonna lie, I’m jealous of some of my friends that are still enjoying Europe right now while I’m back home unpacking. BAH, whatever, so thankful for the opportunity to study abroad.

Escargots has an interesting texture, but it tastes like a butterball of garlic when it’s traditionally prepared. It’s not slimy as most people would expect.

I have a huge obsession with that shade of blue. You know, the teal/turquoise/celadon/Tiffany blue shade.

I was just in Paris last week (again) & I have to say that my second time around this summer wasn’t bad at all. I didn’t encounter any jerks!! Everyone was nice to me, so that was new. Actually, I did encounter one, but that was about it.

The bridge with locks on it is called the Lovers’ Bridge. Lovers will write their names on the locks, lock them to the bridge, & then toss the keys into the water. Symbolizes that their love is everlasting.

Versailles is gorgeous! I wish I was given more time to explore the 28934728374 other parts of the garden I didn’t get to see.
