Summer is nearly, kind-of-but-not-really almost over, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t enjoy a refreshing ice pop on a bright & hot sunny day. At the peak of the season, I went on a bit of a fruit binge, so I got a tray of nectarines & peaches to use in my morning smoothies alongside blueberries, raspberries, & strawberries. We got a new blender over a month ago, so I’ve been utilizing all the fruits within my reach to whip up–or blend up, rather–some refreshing & healthy smoothies. You know how it is, gotta get that “daily 5” in somehow! This recipe is simple, healthy, & absolutely kid-friendly, but if there aren’t any kids around I’ve got a solution for that too. Add an extra zing to it by adding peach alcohol – 4-5 shots should be fine. No one will get drunk off the ice pops, don’t worry…that is of course, unless you eat all 10 ice pops in one sitting.
Moving past the lugubrious notion that summer is coming to an end, cheer up with a wonderful smoothie with some seasonal fruit!

Watermelon Smoothie with Nectarine, Basil, & Mint
So, what else is new? Well, hopefully you already follow me on Instagram because you’d have read that my friends are helping me with filming videos for a new YouTube Channel called The Kitchen Bee. I’m really excited to launch my first video, but we haven’t even put on our post-processing hats yet so it’ll be a while. I’ll probably try to put together a promotional video for the channel before the first episode is uploaded. I’m still experimenting with various creative styles & flairs with my friends in order to develop a unique style – hopefully my videos will be entertaining to watch. This is all still just a hobby! Becoming a pediatrician is still at the forefront of my priorities, I swear.
What new summer recipes are you loving right now? What smoothies do you love to cool down with?
Mhmmm this smoothie looks and sounds super delicious, refreshing and healthy c: Thanks for the share!
//REPLY: I have received your email and replied it

The watermelon smoothie looks delicious! I’ll have to get Tristan to take me to the store and go get the ingredients. I swear your pictures are absolutely wonderful to the point they make my mouth water.
Congratulations, on your cooking show. Here’s to you getting famous. I’m sure you will. 1. You have the personality (even if I only know you online) 2. You have the t.v. persona (even if it’s on a youtube channel) and 3. You bring character and attract so many people. Even on your websites. I hope it reaches a life-time of success and awards. I will subscribe to it when it is up and running. Just let me know! Or rather, let US know! :).
Thank you, Jamie. π That’s really kind of you to say! I really appreciate your thoughtful comment. It’s just a hobby, so nothing too serious!
Beautiful refreshing drink. I made something similar recently. Next time I’ll try it with basil and mint!
Can’t go wrong with a watermelon smoothie! π
The ice pops and smoothie look perfect for the hot summer days π I especially like the sound of watermelon, nectarine, basil, and mint together. Looks very refreshing! We got a blender from our wedding registry a few years ago, and we only used it to make a few milkshakes, haha. I should really pull it back out for smoothies.
Thatβs exciting that youβre making videos! I canβt wait to see them!
Oooo nice!! Go for the smoothies. It’s so hot in Texas (forgot to answer your question about the gas – your gas is cheaper than the gas in my area) that you definitely gotta get your hands on some fruits to make smoothies with!
For some reason, I feel like summer ends at the end of August rather than September 20/21- though it’s mostly contributed thanks to school. All of these fruit recipes sound really refreshing. Watermelon smoothies are really delicious when done right and not pulpy/in chunks.
Good luck with getting your food channel up! As long as you’re having fun and doing what you gotta do to become a pediatrician, it’ll turn out well right? βΊ
I love strawberry-banana smoothies as long as it’s not too icy. As for summer recipes, I didn’t have a chance to explore around much recipes yet.
The peach and nectarine ice pops look delicious. I recently made some ice pops using fresh strawberries but they really lacked in flavour. I’m wondering if I should use coconut water instead of normal tap water.
I’m looking forward to watching your videos once you start your YouTube channel. π
Thank you! As for your ice pops, you either didn’t use enough strawberries or you used too much water. I don’t know what your ice pop molds look like, but the best way to make a flavorful ice pop without adding honey or sugar is simply:
15 strawberries, quartered
1/2 cup of coconut water or flavored tea
That should roughly make about 1.5 to 2 cups of a strawberry ice pop mixture, but it always depends on how large your strawberries are. Adding a lemon juice to it (freshly squeezed) is also a huge plus! A dash of salt goes a long way too. π Hope that was helpful! I never use plain water because, well, it’s plain! I like flavor. π
What a beautiful blog you have! I’m so glad you stopped by mine so I had the chance to discover it! Seriously girl, your pictures, recipes and layout are perfection! I’m in love with all of these ideas. I SO need to try them before summer is over! :’)
Thank you so much, Consuelo! This is probably one of the top ten nicest things anyone has ever said about my blog! π I’m so happy you came to visit my blog too. Trying to make new foodie friends is kind of hard when no one tries to talk to you & you’re just trying to talk to them. I’m going to start following you on Bloglovin’ so I can stay up-to-date with all of your latest creations! π
I love this set of pictures! Colors and composition are great. π
Oh, I can’t wait to see what you have lined up for your channel! I’m sure it’ll turn out great. I used to have a channel a long, long time ago. I just filmed hairstyle videos in my bathroom. Low production stuff. π I was thinking of starting a new channel again, but I’m still figuring out what to film about. I don’t want to to hair anymore I think.
Haha yeah I’d love to see your channel if you ever set it up again! π Thank you for the compliments. π
1) I love this smoothie, and I love that you added mint.
2) lugubrious. I’ve gotta use that word more often.
Your blog is too cute Tiffany! I’m so glad we finally got off the Instagram vortex to actually visit each other! π
