Just in time for Halloween, Tea Time Thursdays gets an added layer of sweetness in the form of pumpkin chocolatey goodness. Guess where this inspiration came from? Pinterest. I have this love/hate relationship with Pinterest – the photos I pin from my own website barely get any pins, but when more popular pinners pin my photo, well, my site gets a flurry of views, but no new followers. I’m going to break this 1k follower barrier somewhere eventually! I’m looking at you, Instagram.
As I’ve mentioned previously, more pumpkin delights will be shoved in your eyeballs. Forgive my inappropriate coffee mug – I stupidly left my teacups at home, but they’ll be back in Boston with me in January. So, let’s dive right into pumpkin goodness.
Pumpkin Cheesecake Tea
I have a new tea shop obsession & luckily for those of you who aren’t near a DavidsTea, you can easily order this Pumpkin Cheesecake tea online. This tea is true to description: a slice of fall. The combination of rooibos, maple sugar, carrot, cinnamon, nutmeg, white chocolate, pumpkin, & other flavors works brilliantly to capture the Autumn season. If you don’t fall in love with fall with this drink, I’m not sure you have properly functioning tastebuds. This tea is perfect to make as a tea latte, but I enjoyed the laid back tea + cream: 2 tablespoons of almond milk & 1 teaspoon of sweetener. The perfect pairing to this tea is a sweet dessert such as my Pumpkin Coffee Truffles.
Pumpkin Coffee Truffles
Trader Joe’s has the best seasonal pumpkin products & I’m taking advantage of it with this recipe. Giving credit where credit’s due, Melissa of My Whole Food Life inspired me to make these pumpkin truffles, but I added a bit of twist on it with pumpkin coffee, dark chocolate, pumpkin pie spice, & agave syrup instead. Find the recipe here.
So, for those of you outside of the states, you can still celebrate Halloween in your own way with these truffles or playing drinking games in costumes with friends. Unfortunately for me, I’ve got two exams to study for so I’m confined to my house. No slutty something costume & free candy for me.
If you’re celebrating Halloween, what are you going to be? Do you have a picture of your costume (link it!)? What’s your favorite Halloween candy? What’s your favorite autumn tea? Yeah, I asked y’all a bunch of questions to see if you’re paying attention. Also, I’ll be hosting a winter holiday giveaway soon to celebrate my 200+ posts, 50+ recipes, & you, my wonderful readers. Keep checkin’ back for more!

I’m not much of a pumpkin person, but the pumpkin coffee truffles look pretty good. I was concerned they were Buckeyes at first, but fortunately they’re not.
I had to look up what Buckeyes were to be honest! No, they’re not Buckeyes – no peanut butter in this recipe. I’m pretty sure even those who aren’t “pumpkin people” will enjoy this truffle because it’s chocolate!!!!
I’m not a pumpkin fan, but those truffles look good! And pumpkin cheesecake tea sounds really good. Then again, I love almost anything relating to cheesecake 😀
Boo for having to study for exams, but that’s the life of a dedicated student. I hope you can still do something fun for Halloween, though. I’m not much of a Halloween person, but I do like candies, so I was able to get some of them at work since we were giving a bunch out to our kids 😀 So yay for free sweets! Otherwise, I just went straight home and called for a pizza for Dad and me. That was my lazy Halloween night!
Thank you. 🙂 When I read these “I’m not a fan of pumpkin” comments, my eyes tend to pretend they didn’t read what they just did because it’s just silly. If you like chocolate & you like candy, you’d like these, that’s all there is to it. PUMPKIN PERSON OR NOT. I’d ship these out to people if they weren’t perishable hah!
Didn’t do anything for Halloween unfortunately. I did get a nice donut with a pumpkin on it to eat though, hah!
That tea sounds like the absolute best thing, I’m so envious! I wonder if you can get it in Australia… I actually have a job interview at a tea store next week – maybe they’ll sell it?
The truffles look amazing as well though. Given that it’s nearly summer here, I usually skip over all the pumpkin recipes that I see around on the internet, but these just look too good. I’d make them, but that’d be some mega procrastination.
DavidsTea unfortunately only ships throughout the US & Canada. They’re not like Tazo tea that is sold everywhere, it’s exclusive to their locations so you’d have to have someone in the US or Canada purchase the teas & ship it to you. That’s why I have a giveaway coming up so stick around & you could participate & possibly win some awesome teas!!
Good luck on your job interview! I’m actually hoping to work at the DavidsTea near my apartment too. 🙂
That tea sounds heavenly <3 I love pumpkin so much! Haha
Well, I made pumpkin coffee truffles too.
Halloween isn’t a very big happening here in the Netherlands, same goes for pumpkin haha. Most Dutch people aren’t keen on that either. However, those chocolatey bonbons look delicious :3
The truffles turned out really delicious! 🙂 Too bad Halloween is mostly an American thing. A holiday of free candy is pretty great.
sometimes i wish i can have the determination to set that goal too; have more followers, make myself / my blog more well known and such. it’d be a lie if bloggers say they’re not happy getting more hits. but yeah, sometimes i’m like, “pfft who cares, right? i mean, i don’t write THAT good. i don’t post THAT good of a photograph. i don’t think anyone would bother” so yeah, LOL
you, though, i bet you can break the 1k followers record. it’s not impossible for ya 😉
“more pumpkin delights will be shoved in your eyeballs” this is so creepy if you imagine it, like something in a horror movie but eh, yes yes i like your humor. keep that up.
i’ve never heard of pumpkin cheesecake tea! wow, that’s really interesting and worth the try. why is it that you and georgie can get access to weird concoction of teas while i can’t find these here djekhflwk what the– i can’t even find lady grey here since the cliche ones are always english breakfast or earl grey -__-;;
i’ve never heard of anyone brewing tea with cream. what kind of cream do you usually use? like, which brand and such? once i tried adding milk into my tea and it tastes weird? x__x maybe because it’s not the right tea for milk.
Don’t doubt yourself, Alice! Well, I mean, always strive to improve, but just imagine if someone really famous posted one of your pictures on Tumblr. I’m 100% sure that the photo would get reblogged thousands of times. The thing is, if a lot of people were exposed to your work, they’d be fans. The problem is not that your work isn’t great, it’s that there isn’t enough exposure. I know when someone who has thousands of followers reblogs one of my photosets, it gets reblogged 500+ times, but I have 100 something followers on Tumblr. I gain 0 new followers, yet my photosets get more exposure than I actually do! It’s a shame though, because if people liked my photos that much, they might as well just follow me. Stupid Tumblr, grr. Wow, long rant.
tl;dr you have talent, you just need to be exposed to more people so that they can recognize your talent.
I tend to hyperbolize my blogs only because talking about food is kind of boring, so I need to toss something more interesting in there. 🙂 Glad you catch it, Alice! You’re the only one who does haha. THANK GOODNESS FOR YOU.
You can order tea online! DavidsTea doesn’t ship outside of the US or Canada, but I’m doing a giveaway soon so if you win, you bet your bottom you can pick whichever tea you’d like from their website & I’ll ship it to you. 🙂 Lady Grey is also one of my favorites & that’s from TeaChaiTe.com. I don’t know if it ships outside of the US/Canada either. You can definitely look for teas online that’ll ship to you though!!!
Wait, what?!?!?! You drink milk tea with boba don’t you?? That’s the same thing. I don’t really call almond milk “cream,” but yeah, tea & cream is one of the most popular ways to enjoy tea, especially in Europe. I use almond milk or coconut milk in my tea if I’m craving it. You can also use coffee creamer in your tea too, but coffee creamer has way too many nasty chemicals in it that I prefer to use almond milk. The amount of milk you add to tea should be very minimal, but milk tea is often enjoyed with sweetener, so it might taste too watered down or strange without sweetener.
Also, chai lattes = tea + milk. Well, technically chai isn’t a tea, it’s a mixture of spices, but the point is, you can get tea lattes at any Starbucks (tea + frothy milk).
Ooh, yum, those truffles look good and easy to make 🙂 I also like that list of flavors you listed for the tea. Sounds nice! I’ve been drinking tea lately from being in Japan, and now I’m tempted to get into it more, haha.
I didn’t celebrate Halloween this year! I was in Kyoto, which didn’t seem to celebrate it much (there are bigger celebrations in Tokyo I think). My favorite candies are always the mini chocolate bars. Those were the best to get when I still went trick or treating 🙂
This makes me really happy to hear, Cat! 🙂 I love Japanese Green Tea. Matcha is incredibly expensive, so I kind of shy away from it & stick with just the loose leaf green tea, but if you’re into fruity flavors, DavidsTea has tons of different fruity options. They’re all so good! Also floral options, plain old green tea or black, etc. Over 150 flavors, there’s something for everyone. 🙂
I’m on the same page with you! Those mini candy bars were the best. 🙂 Looking at your photos, it looks like you had a wonderful time in Kyoto!!
Pinterest is a great source of inspiration! I noticed there a trick in generating traffic from Pinterest; one of the ways is to start pinning popular related pins (and get followers) then gradually add your own original pins (because your followers will see them) while removing the popular pins.. Or use some popular keywords but I’m sure you already did that :). Pinterest is complicated…
I’ve never heard of pumpkin cheesecake tea before! But I’m sure it’s delicious nonetheless- especially with the fall season being around. Good luck with your upcoming exams. I totally feel you about being confined whenever an exam is coming up *_*.
I didn’t plan to celebrate Halloween but at work, my aunt had me dress up as a pirate. I don’t necessarily have a favorite Halloween candy but I do wish I can find a place that sells caramelized popcorn. And no tea for me, we have a complicated relationship :x.
Am I in a pumpkin heaven? It seems so! I’d love to try this tea, must be super pumpkin-li-cious, especially when accompanied with yummy truffles such as these pictured here 🙂
Hah! I thought you weren’t a fan of pumpkin. I’m glad you’re opening up to it though. 🙂 I’d be more than happy to send you the tea (it doesn’t ship outside of Canada or the US) if you’re really interested!
WHATTTTT?!?!? PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE TEA?!?! HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?! This tea sounds like a hug in a cup. And the truffles….stop doing this to me! 😛
GIRLLL it is possible. Check out DavidsTea’s website & you can get your hands on some. They’re a lot cheaper if you buy them in the store, but if there’s not one near you, just buy it online. They’re still cheaper than Teavana & better quality too!!!
