Mussels in White Wine Sauce, Escargots, & Bread

What better way to start off this post with a picture of food we ate in France? We went a few weeks back, but I just finally got around to posting the 500+ pictures. The most image heavy being the Paris album since we went there on Bastille day. Pictures from Venice, Rome, & London later. I have a paper, presentation, & learning journal to complete by Thursday. The Roman Baths

You guys…I have some trivial first world problems: too many pictures to sort through & not enough space on my laptop to store the originals. WHAT DO I DO?! I should’ve brought my external hard drive. Guess I’ll have to buy a USB stick capable of storing at least 10 GB of things. Or buy 2 with 5 GB memory. What the heck is taking up so much space on my laptop?! Whatevs, onto Europe stuff.

The first session of my study abroad program is over already. I haven’t received a grade for my Harry Potter paper yet or for the class, but let’s hope I earned an A.

Weekend Italy Trip

Italy, here I come!

Flying away to Italy this weekend & I still have pictures to post from Bath & France. After I finish my 2500 word paper on Harry Potter for my Anthropology class on Religion & Ritual, those pictures will be up. This is also assuming we’ve booked our hostels & figured out ways to get from Venice to Rome without busting our bank accounts. Yes, I’m serious about the subject of my paper (titled “Rites of Passage, Rituals, and Symbolism in the Magical World of Harry Potter”). No, I don’t care that it makes me seem like a total nerd because the Harry Potter series is brilliant & everyone should read it. Trust me, in order for me to get an A in the course, I need to use anthropological journals to support the brilliance. Not like I can afford to write a 2500 word paper sounding like an idiotic fangirl (not a fangirl FYI) when my grade depends on it. Compare it to Twilight & die. You can enjoy them both, but you cannot compare the two because I said so (JK, they’re different genres, obvi) or I’ll end you.

Stonehenge

Stonehenge

Last Sunday, Olivia & I visited Stonehenge after Salisbury Cathedral. Afterward, we went onwards to Bath, one of the most beautiful cities in England. It rained on & off at Stonehenge with strong winds. If you’re unfamiliar with this historical monument, here’s an excerpt from Wikipedia:

Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in the English county of Wiltshire, about 2.0 miles (3.2 km) west of Amesbury and 8 miles (13 km) north of Salisbury. One of the most famous sites in the world, Stonehenge is composed of a circular setting of large standing stones set within earthworks. It is at the centre of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England, including several hundred burial mounds.

It’s one of the most mysterious monuments in existence & has been around since 3100 BCE. Archaeologists believe that it was used as a ceremonial burial site, but there’s much more to the stones that continues to perpetuate its enigma today.

Since we took so many pictures on Saturday from our adventures at Windsor & Oxford, I made two different albums for the two different places. Likewise, I’ve also split up Sunday, which consisted of Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge, & Bath. Stonehenge & Bath pictures will be added later. Why do I even bother explaining these things?
