Most people procrastinate by surfing Reddit when they really need to do something, but don’t want to. Others play video games or stalk their friends on Facebook, but I procrastinate in a “productive”–sadly not an academically productive–way by feeding myself. Hi, I’m Tiffany & I’m addicted to “stress cooking”. While I should be studying for the dreaded MCAT (Medical College Admission Test), I often find myself in the kitchen, facing the pantry looking it up & down as if I were checking out Ryan Gosling. I tell myself I’m just looking for a snack, but I’m really just wasting time because I don’t want to feel defeated trying to figure out translational motion as its relevance to medicine is as relevant as twerking is to ballroom dancing.

Cold Ramen |
I made this bowl of vegetarian cold ramen yesterday for lunch & it was so filling, I didn’t really eat anything else besides a bag of chips. In addition to newly added recipes, I’ve also updated the gallery with photos from dinner at Midori with my colleagues & an event at the LA Zoo with Josh.
For some inexplicable reason–it’s laziness paired with academia–I haven’t been updating my recipes as often as I’d like. Even though the pace at which I update my recipes probably won’t change much, I figured I might as well just add 3 new ones in one day than 0 in 3 months. I updated the look & feel of the recipes using YumPrint, which I wouldn’t have discovered without seeing it being used wonderfully on Kalliste’s blog. I stoled itz, but not really. You can now easily print & rate my recipes! If you see anything funky like celebrity baby names (North West, really guys?), feel free to e-mail me or comment anywhere to let me know if I’ve maid any spelling arrows. Shut up, I thought I was clever for a second.

Albums
Last year I had 4 followers on Bloglovin’ & 2 of them were me, so I’m thrilled that that number has multiplied by 6. Make my week & follow me on Bloglovin’! Let me know if you do because I follow back. I read, reply, & appreciate all of your comments, so thank you for leaving them! Even if you’re a troll, thanks for wasting 3 minutes of your life making my post look slightly more popular.
Vy & Me at Tao Beach |
I come bearing summer treats! Actually, just one treat, that is of course if you count new albums as treats, then yes, I think treats needs dat plural! A few weeks ago, Vegas experienced one of its hottest weeks of the summer. Fortunately for Danny, Josh, Vy, & me, we experienced it when it was around 42º C (108º F) instead of 47º C (117º F). While Danny gambled, Josh, Vy, & I went to a very overcrowded Tao Beach. We quickly left to enjoy the larger pool beside the day club without sacrificing anything other than a bar only to gain a spacious & cool pool. Sliding into the cold water was like experiencing the best day of your life transformed onto your nervous system as chills avalanched throughout your heated body. It was difficult not to be happy on such a beautiful day, in a beautiful pool, & surrounded by beautiful people.
It’s too bad we only got a short amount of time in Vegas, but it was a fantastic trip & everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Vy especially liked that I made her pasta & brought her Hot Cheetos when we picked her up from the airport. It’s hard to believe it’s almost the weekend again!

Sanriku Kaisendon: The Best Chirashi of my Life |
Donald & I went to Sushi Koto yesterday to fulfill his sushi craving. I had read about how it has some of the best Chirashi bowls to offer in Orange County. Hands down, absolutely not disappointed. Everything in that bowl was fresh, high quality, & delicious. It was also very filling, especially since it came with salad, miso soup, & dessert. The Chirashi bowl consisted of: steamed abalone, salmon, tuna, big scallop, yellowtail, squid, masago, ikura, & avocado all over a bed of rice. Talk about a day in the life of a fatty. In my defense, it was the best Chirashi I’ve ever had & any type of “Best I’ve Ever Had” experience is well worth it!

Adult Coffee. |
No gallery updates at the moment as I’m still working on editing the photos from Amsterdam & Bruges. However, I have added 2 new recipes. After all, this is more of a “food” photo journal than anything else. I’ve added a recipe for Shrimp Spring Rolls & a cocktail I named “Adult Coffee.” The Spring Rolls are actually perfect for summer because they’re light & coldish. Adult Coffee is served chilled & great for the daytime, but not as refreshing as a fruity drink. Nevertheless, they’re both summer delights I hope you’ll enjoy.
New Recipes
- Adult Coffee
- Shrimp Spring Rolls
A recipe for the dipping sauce for the spring rolls will be posted soon. I just need to recreate the vegetarian fish sauce recipe before I post it. Cheers!
Edit
10/26/2014: I deleted my recipe for Shrimp Summer (NOT Spring) Rolls a while ago because I thought the photos were incredibly hideous. I will eventually post a proper recipe for Shrimp Summer Rolls alongside a nice vegetarian/vegan fish sauce. I’m still working on perfecting a great recipe for it so that’s why it’s been 2 years & I’ve yet to produce a recipe for it, hah!
