Weekend Italy Trip

July 17, 2012 // Posted in Photo Journal, Travel

July 17, 2012 | Posted in [post_category]

Italy, here I come!

Flying away to Italy this weekend & I still have pictures to post from Bath & France. After I finish my 2500 word paper on Harry Potter for my Anthropology class on Religion & Ritual, those pictures will be up. This is also assuming we’ve booked our hostels & figured out ways to get from Venice to Rome without busting our bank accounts. Yes, I’m serious about the subject of my paper (titled “Rites of Passage, Rituals, and Symbolism in the Magical World of Harry Potter”). No, I don’t care that it makes me seem like a total nerd because the Harry Potter series is brilliant & everyone should read it. Trust me, in order for me to get an A in the course, I need to use anthropological journals to support the brilliance. Not like I can afford to write a 2500 word paper sounding like an idiotic fangirl (not a fangirl FYI) when my grade depends on it. Compare it to Twilight & die. You can enjoy them both, but you cannot compare the two because I said so (JK, they’re different genres, obvi) or I’ll end you.

Thanks for all the comments, guys! I’ll be sure to return them all soon too.

Your paper sounds interesting! Trust me, I know what you mean. For my upper level music class in my last semester of school, I had to write this paper using primary sources as well..heavy in research! So, it definitely takes a lot of energy and time (and research!) to write a conceivable paper! Have fun on your trip to Italy!!! Take photos and share with us lol

AHHHH! You are my hero!!!! I LOVE HARRY POTTER! I also love the fact that you chose it as your topic and wrote 2500 words on it. Love love love.
I really wanted to incorporate Harry Potter into one of my college essays last fall, but it didn’t work out. Hopefully I can write a paper about it one day.

haha well….my final assignment was really broad. I just had to write a 2500 word paper that dealt with some things we learned in our class. My class is an Anthropology class called “Religion & Ritual,” & at the end of our session, we dealt with rites of passage, rituals, & symbolism. So, it wasn’t difficult to write because I have all 7 books on my iPad & I already had anthropological definitions & journals to quote to make it a scholarly paper. I just hope my professor likes it enough to give me an A. I SHOULD GET ONE JUST BECAUSE I WROTE ABOUT HARRY EFFIN’ POTTER THOUGH, AMIRIGHT OR AMIRIGHT??
