Flying off to England |
On June 24th, I arrived at Heathrow Airport in London & settled into my flat at the University of Sussex in Brighton. My building is newly built so my room has an en-suite bathroom. En-suite bathroom = no queue for the shower = amazing. The campus is kind of in the middle of nowhere, consequently surrounded by the countryside. Lots of rabbits, squirrels, giant seagulls, & cows roam around. True story: I practically got attacked by a giant seagull the other day. I guess it really wanted my cinnamon roll. Aside from that, I absolutely love it here. Olivia & I don’t want to go home in 9 weeks! If I convince a European to marry me, can I get citizenship? Does it work like that? No? Seriously? I hate you.
Finally got the internet to work, but because it’s the uni’s server, I can’t connect to my FTP server, which means I have to tediously upload each picture instead of batches of it. Too sleepy to upload more pictures. Two albums are all you get for now. Stalk more later.

Wow how awesome!! Maybe we can switch. I don’t live in England though, but I do live in the Netherlands, so if we switch you can stay in Europe and I’ll go to America :D!!
Haha well, have fun at the uni.
Tiff
hahaha yeah we can definitely switch. I think you’d like California, but New York is awesome too!

1) That seems like an amazing opportunity, and I am so jealous.
2) I am so jealous.
3) You are so very lucky!
4) Did I mention my jealousy?
😛
5) HOW did you get into that school? Was it easy? Probably not… Um… Really expensive I’m going to assume…
Tiff
hahaha! The University of Sussex & plenty of other universities in the UK have study abroad programs during the summer, fall, spring, or winter. Whatever it is, they have it. So, my school has agreements with them & the grades I receive here will transfer back home. It was pretty easy to get in. You just need a 3.0 GPA, to apply for a program of interest like anthropology, physics, chemistry, business, whatever, & then turn in everything on time! You just have to research it & see if your school is affiliated with any similar programs.
Tiff
But yes, it is very pricey, especially with the crappy weak USD in comparison to the GBP. 1 USD = .64 GBP so, yeah. It’s expensive. 🙁

Wait wait wait, what did you say? “Lots of rabbits, squirrels, giant seagulls, & cows roam around.” I want to be there. The place must be a heaven haha.
Enjoy baby and congrats to your cousin 🙂

Hahaha our university is in the middle of nowhere – it’s pretty much the countryside because it’s surrounded by such dense greenery.

…And I’m guessing that our FAFSA stuff we have over here would have no jurisdiction over there? P:
Unfortunately I can’t attend school right now because of my health, and it sucks. But now that I know, when I go back I’ll know now to see if there is anything. ^^ Thanks. :3
Tiff
Hmmm I don’t know about the FAFSA stuff actually. You can apply for financial aid for these study abroad programs. I actually don’t know too much about it, but you should definitely ask a counselor when your health improves & you return to school! I’m so sorry to hear that it’s disabling you from attending school, though. 🙁
