Last quarter in chemistry lab, one of my lab partners, Tim, discovered I had a photojournal & asked me how one gets featured on said photojournal to which I replied, “you just have to hang out with me.” Disgruntled by the thought of hanging out with me & naturally curious, he proceeded to ask me an array of personal questions that caught me off guard:
“So, what do you look for in a guy?”
“When do you want to get married?”
“Whom do you like?”
“How many kids do you want to have?”
At the time, I avoided answering the questions in detail & replied, “a lot; I don’t know; don’t worry about it; 2,” respectively. Realistically, I should’ve said, “a personality that complements mine; when the time is right; Ryan Gosling; 2,” respectively, to avoid further prying, but my inadequate answers led to more questions. The personal inquiries were a little annoying at first, but since Timothy is the comedian/class clown of our lab, it became more entertaining than irritating.

When Bryan & Tim were over at my apartment to work on our soil lab project, I had ordered delivery sushi because I was hungry. Given the stressful & sleepy environment caused by the guys working so diligently on the project until 5 in the morning, we agreed to reunite after the quarter was over to have a real “sushi party.”

It would seem that Timothy ended up being featured on my photojournal after all. I picked up Bryan, Tim, & Vinny to go to Sushi Stop on Sawtelle to have that much anticipated “sushi party” without the pressure of turning in a lab report worth at least 20% of our grade. As I was returning the guys back home, right when I was about to turn onto Santa Monica, Tim inquired about my personal life once again. The question caught me by surprise that I ended up hitting the curb of the corner of Santa Monica & Sawtelle. After spending twice a week for 10 weeks in lab with Tim, I should’ve expected the dating questions.
So, Tim. It wasn’t so bad hanging out with me, right? He seemed to enjoy himself despite my presence.
I have my first round of midterms on Monday, Friday, & the week after so I probably shouldn’t be posting. After midterms are over, I’ll be sure to add the recipe of mango sorbet I made today, which has alcohol in it. SURPRISE!
Hi woman. I missed you and your mouthwatering food photography. Actually, I just missed talking to you in general.
Good luck on your midterms. I know you’ll do smashingly.
You and your obsession with Ryan. Just go stalk him and get married already.
NICOLEEEEE!! I was just thinking about you the other day & was going to message you to see how you’re doing! I miss talking to you, girly.
Nah, I’m not about that stalking life hahaha. Ryan deserves a sane person & not a fan girl. I’d be way too obsessed with him. Insert overly attached girlfriend meme.
The volcano roll looks awesome. I was thinking how it looked like a volcano! 😀
Did you ever end up answering his questions?
Yeah, I answered them right in the second paragraph. 🙂
So did Timothy ended up wooing you and sweeping you off your feet?
Also, oh god, I love Sushi Stop. They really need to open another place in Orange County. There are too many in LA already. Spread the joy, man!
Hahhh, definitely not. No offense to Tim.
I know! There are two on the same street. It would be really nice if there were a Sushi Stop in OC, but you know what? There’s Kaisen & it’s amazing. It’s in Costa Mesa/Santa Ana on Bristol & Sunflower.
I swear I already commented on this but I will re-comment because I was at work so I must not have pressed submit. Hahaha.
Sounds like you had fun with Tim! I’ve never personally had sushi and I don’t really like fish so I probably wouldn’t like it but I wish I did because fish is so good for you. hahaha. That food looks so tasty too! Makes me want to eat it regardless!

I wish I was more of a “sentimental value gifts” person. I feel selfish for not being one but I guess I’m just young and presents and such mean a lot to me since I am young. Hahaha.
Making me dinner is a good way to say you care about me though, specially if it is spaggetti or pizza. My favorite meals! hahaha.
(no I am not italian XD)
What happened when he broke up with you via text? Did you try to call him or see him to talk it out in person?
“Boy” never did. He came to get his stuff and pay me for my stuff that he wanted to keep (mainly a tablet that I bought online).
The main reason why I didn’t break up in person is because I knew I couldn’t do it. I knew I could not go through with it if I saw his gorgeous blue eyes and sad face. Even if I did I knew I would run back to him….so I understood that if I really wanted it over I had to get low, very low. & Yes I do regret it even to this day….especially to this day because I almost just did it again to “Boy 3”. /slaps self across the face
I got back with him though before it was official but I realized that I haven’t changed as much as I thought I did in the past 8 months…and it brought me back down to earth. 🙂
I agree, most people that do that don’t understand that text break-ups are the worst. I have actually had it happen to me before as well….Just NOW remembered it. XD My very first ex boyfriend broke up wtih me via text…. /rolls eyes
I have to blog about the whole story of 9th grade. 9th grade made me what I am today…but I will wait until Monday as I hate blogging too many times because I try to at least get 2 comments on each of my posts (not including my own replies) otherwise I feel bad (unless it has been at least 4 days, then idgaf lol)
I have brought it up though, definitely. Several times. He just didn’t have the courage to tell me to my face (told me over text) that the reason why we were unofficially officially together was because he was worried about after basic….what if he goes overseas for years at a time and is only back for a month tops then gone for a few years….he did not want that to get in the way of our relationship. Which is totally understandable but that is where my current blog post comes from.
Yeah, I definitely don’t want to repeat the last relationship. X.X That would be awful!
haha, wow, he asks a lot of pretty personal questions. A sushi party sounds fun, and that volcano roll looks delicious 🙂 I’ve been in such a sushi mood lately. I can’t wait to see your mango sorbet recipe too, since I’ve been thinking of making ice creams and sorbets now that the weather is hotter. I hope your midterms go well! Good luck!
Thanks Cat! I’ll let you know when I stop being lazy & post that recipe up. 🙂
LOL those people who ask those kinds of questions without actually offending you are the most hilarious kinds of people. I was once with my boyfriend waiting in a crowded hallway (we were waiting for our TA to arrive) when a classmate asked out of nowhere in front of everyone, “how long have you been together?” “Do you guys ever talk about marriage?” “When do you want kids?” “I better be at the wedding.” LOL. My boyfriend worked on projects with him once or twice, so he knew him but didn’t know him very well. It was pretty funny. A girl nearby followed up with, “Wow, do tell us all your dark and deep secrets while you’re at it” 😛
YUM, I love sushi. Everyone who knows me knows this. Because I always feel the need to let them know. Like right now. Hahaha. 😀
