Cold Ramen |
I made this bowl of vegetarian cold ramen yesterday for lunch & it was so filling, I didn’t really eat anything else besides a bag of chips. In addition to newly added recipes, I’ve also updated the gallery with photos from dinner at Midori with my colleagues & an event at the LA Zoo with Josh.
For some inexplicable reason–it’s laziness paired with academia–I haven’t been updating my recipes as often as I’d like. Even though the pace at which I update my recipes probably won’t change much, I figured I might as well just add 3 new ones in one day than 0 in 3 months. I updated the look & feel of the recipes using YumPrint, which I wouldn’t have discovered without seeing it being used wonderfully on Kalliste’s blog. I stoled itz, but not really. You can now easily print & rate my recipes! If you see anything funky like celebrity baby names (North West, really guys?), feel free to e-mail me or comment anywhere to let me know if I’ve maid any spelling arrows. Shut up, I thought I was clever for a second.

Last year I had 4 followers on Bloglovin’ & 2 of them were me, so I’m thrilled that that number has multiplied by 6. Make my week & follow me on Bloglovin’! Let me know if you do because I follow back. I read, reply, & appreciate all of your comments, so thank you for leaving them! Even if you’re a troll, thanks for wasting 3 minutes of your life making my post look slightly more popular.

I’ve never had Ramen before, but it looks pretty tasty! Maybe I’ll give it a try.

I keep forgetting where you live, but I’ll eventually find out when I visit your blog haha, but you should definitely try it at a restaurant before attempting to make it at home. Check reviews first though. I don’t want to be responsible for encouraging a trip to a ramen restaurant only to have you come back to tell me how horrible it was!

Ooh, I’ll have to check out your recipes. The cold ramen looks very tasty and refreshing. I was craving ramen the other day, but I felt like it was too hot for it. I didn’t even think of trying a cold ramen 🙂 I also love Korean pancakes!
Yummy, the ice cream sandwiches at Diddy Riese makes me want some now, haha. I’m also amazed at the amount of sushi in your Midori photos!
Tiff
Right?! I never thought to eat ramen cold until I saw this package of it at the Japanese grocery store & thought it to be the perfect solution to a hot summer day in which you randomly crave ramen, but you don’t want to perspire to eat your darn food.
The ice cream sandwiches are pretty cheap too! You can realistically just make them at home. You will need 2 cookies & Dryer’s ice cream bahaha. Diddy Riese makes their own cookies, but they do not produce their own ice cream (it’s Dryer’s) so the appeal is the price & their cookies, which are pretty good.
The 4 of us put away a lot of sushi! That’s what happens when you’re at an AYCE sushi restaurant with 3 men though!!

The cold ramen looks delicious! Sometimes I wish to eat cold ramen or cold noodles of some type because it’s just so hot! So the little corn nuts-looking thing are tempura pieces in the photo above?
I’ll be sure to try the Cold Noodles and Spicy Kimchi Pancakes recipes! 🙂 I love kimchi so I’m sure I’ll like that recipe! Thanks! 🙂
Tiff
Yep, the little fruity pebbles like things are just tempura flakes I found sold in the refrigerated area in the Japanese grocery store. They add a really nice crunchy dimension to the ramen & even when it gets soggy with the sauce, they still taste good!
No problem! Let me know how it turns out or if you adjusted anything so I can adjust the recipe accordingly. 🙂

Gotta love the new arrangement for recipe page! 🙂
Ack your food pictures are always so sinful TwT will try changing my soba to cold ramen hehe >:)
the kimchi pancake omg now i’m curious about it….uh, I’ve never even made the normal, plain pancake *slapped* i’m not a kitchen person and i’m not allowed to wreck the house kitchen too anyway so yeah =__=;; it’d be nice if a house member isn’t too lazy to cook me some fancy breakfast/brunch lol the peppermint bark makes a good idea for snacking/dessert too~ more sweets recipes please 😛
followed you on bloglovin already~ :3

oooo! I seee that you’ve got your own domain, but it’s not working at the moment. 🙁 I was trying to return your comment!
Bahh aw thanks. I like your food pictures too!
How about I try to recommend you some really easy recipes that will practically guarantee that you won’t burn the house down, nor will you make a mess. If you do make a mess, you’ll just have to clean it up!!
Try the peppermint bark recipe since it’s really easy. Soups are also really easy since you just cut things up & put it in a pot. Shouldn’t be too hard to mess up! Plus, if things taste bland, add butter/salt!

Yay Troll! Ahaha j/k <333 That looks super yummy though!! Wow, I think I'm totally going to go cook all of your recipes! Super healthy… I need a dose of healthy in my life! lol =)

Baha, I hope the recipes turn out okay! Let me know if anything is unclear or if it just tastes like garbage. I’ll adjust them accordingly. More healthy recipes on the waaaaayyyy … eventually.

For some reason, I’ve never noticed that you had a recipes section. And if I have, then I clearly forgot about it. :p The peppermint bark recipe looks easy, so I may try it around Christmastime!
I also followed you on Bloglovin’. 🙂 I kind of just have it. For giveaways and stuff. But sometimes it’s convenient for me. :p

I think you might’ve forgotten that I have a recipes section because you have commented on them before!

That looks so delicious! I’m starting to think maybe we could arrange a little deal where you come and live with me in England, and instead of paying rent you just cook for me? hehe
We went to the zoo on Monday! Ah, aren’t zoos amazing? :3
Thanks, I’m actually quite proud of how quickly it all came back to me once I got going. I just spent a good half an hour trying to set up lightbox again, but now I think I’m properly back and running. yay!
I’m going to be honest, I have never heard of Carl Zeiss lenses before.. The camera just had good specs for a good price, and I liked the colour. I was sold the second I saw the green.
Thank you, I will do!
Tiff
I need to remember to put your blog on my sidebar. I’ll do that soon, I promise!!
HMMM this sounds like a good idea. 10/10 would consider. Bah lightbox! I like PrettyPhoto better. I’m not sure if it’s the same company or not, but it allows you to play videos in & there are lots of other display options which is always nice. I have both installed, only because I don’t remember where else on my website Lightbox is used & I don’t want to search the database for it. -_-
Carl Zeiss specializes in lenses & they’re a really prominent company making anything & everything from medical supplies like microscopes to camera lenses!

Your recipes always look so yummy!
I’ve been taking up the habit of eating one meal a day, just letting the breakfast hour and lunch hour pass me as I continue working. While I’m glad I am being productive and technically ‘too busy’ I should really break the habit and learn to sit and eat again.
Tiff
Ahhh! Yeah it’s a bad habit we all have to cut out. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so truly, we should have a big breakfast, light lunch, medium dinner around 6-7 depending on when we go to bed. Should go to bed slightly hungry instead of incredibly full because then you’ll wake up all fat. Just kidding, but you really shouldn’t go to bed so full you want to burst.

I read the recipe and thought that this would be perfect for those feeling healthy and lazy at the same time. Thanks for being so kind and sharing your recipes with us. Did I mention in the past that I’m glad I found your blog? If not, now you know! 😛
Just curious about your academic life. I saw on FB that you graduated from college the same year I did. Are you doing grad school or what? Good luck balancing your times. 🙂 It’s a challenge that everyone must overcome.
Tiff
Aw that’s really sweet of you to say & I’m really glad you’ve liked stumbling upon my little blog of sorts. 🙂 I hope if ever you try out the recipe, you find it well worth your time!
I’m hoping to do a Postbacc & then study for the MCATs, apply to medical school, apply to D.O. school, all that jazz. I’d be thrilled to get into a professional school in the field of medicine whether it’s D.O. or medical, doesn’t realllly matter. I just need to get there. That in it & of itself is going to be the biggest challenge for me. I’m awful with time management though, so I do have to work on that. Great when I make up an itinerary, awful when I’m given an entire day of freeeeeplaaaayyyyy.
Ciara
This looks super yummy! I’m excited to try this recipe! 😀
Tiff
Thanks, Ciara!
Joy
Everything you make always looks so yummy! I mean, come on!
Also, thank you so much for the congratulations on my wedding! It is much appreciated.
Tiff
Thanks, Joy!! 🙂 & you’re absolutely welcome!
