The Road to 100…Bloglovin’ Followers.
I’m hosting a giveaway for the very first time on Tiffany Bee & anyone can participate because I’m making this worldwide! It doesn’t even matter if you’re my friend & you just saw me yesterday, you can still participate. So please help me spread the word so more than just a few people can get a chance at winning some free goodies. I know I’m not exactly throwing in a free camera or anything that fancy, but I do send the best care packages. (See Nancy & Becca for confirmation on said best care packages.) For some very strange reason still unknown to me, the cookbook I ordered for this giveaway never got delivered to me & the company that sold it to me never responded back to my e-mail, so for this giveaway, you can choose whether you want a cookbook, one of my favorite novels, or any book that is on your wish list right now.
What’s in the package?
- (1) Book of your choice within $15
- (1) Matcha Green Tea Cream Pocky
- (1) Panda Cookies & Cream Pocky
- (1) Handmade faux pearl bracelet
- (1) Nail lacquer
- (1) Handmade “tribal” bracelet

Free domain & hosting?! Tell me more!
- Free domain will be registered at Name Cheap with any TLD you want, but within $13. If the domain you want costs more than that, I can PayPal you $13 while you pay for the difference.
- Disk space » 10 GB
- Bandwidth » 20 GB
- cPanel » No, but if you want one, it’ll be about $50 a year & I’d give you way more space (think anywhere from 20 GB extra to 500 GB).
- Free installations of any programs offered by Fantastico &/or Softaculous including WordPress, Coppermine Gallery, phpBB, & tons more.
- No, I will not install Blogger onto my server because it’s one of the worst blogging systems out there & just no. Stop. Don’t even ask. I will drop you from the server if you even try to install that awful software onto the server.
- If you don’t want a domain, hosting, or none of this at all, you can transfer your prize to someone else competing.
Don’t think you’ll win? Nonsense! I’m giving out runner-up prizes to 5 individuals: free advertising in the form of 150 by 100 icons displayed at the bottom of my next 3 posts. This raffle will end on my birthday, May 30th. Ideally, I’d like to have reached 100 followers on Bloglovin’, but it’s okay if I don’t. I just want to give my visitors a chance to win free loot! This is a free giveaway of at least $75 because the hosting is the most expensive. Don’t miss out on this opportunity if you’re itching for your own domain.
Tell all of your friends to participate if you really want to maximize your chance at winning because any of your friends can transfer the prize, given that they win, to you, given that they don’t want the loot. Happy raffling! You can even reblog this on Tumblr & tell me so I can give you +10 points.
Vegan Sushi Roll
When I was making these last week, I was aiming for a vegetarian recipe because I was going to use honey instead of sugar in the sushi rice & add tobiko for garnish, but I realized I didn’t have any honey & I forgot to garnish the rolls with tobkko. However, it doesn’t mean you can’t at home if you’re obsessed with caviar or prefer the taste of honey over sugar. So I present to you a vegan recipe for sushi, cut rolls & a hand roll. You can mix it up with different combinations of vegetables & mushrooms, but I just used cucumber, sautéed enoki, & avocado. To make the roll slightly more healthy, I used brown rice.
But, can I dip it?
Special Sushi Sauce
If you were at a sushi restaurant & there was already eel sauce or ponzu sauce on your sushi & you tried to soak it in more sodium in the form of soy sauce, I’d slap away your chopsticks, but this sauce is made to dunk your lighter rolls in. This recipe was inspired by California Roll Factory in LA, which had my former roommate Gaby & me sipping every last drop. It’s not really something you want to dunk your caterpillar roll into, but it’s something you can dunk your vegetable rolls. If you have excess, it’s great to pour over some rice to eat the next day with leftover vegetables, or you can drink it straight. If you really want to get fancy, try using it in an oyster shooter with a little sake. Boom, oyster shooter recipe. This recipe is not vegan, but it is vegetarian.
Oh, so you make videos now?
Yes! I took some videos while I was studying abroad two summers ago. I can’t believe it’s already been two summers ago. I CRAI EVERYTIM. Anyway, I put together the random videos using iMovie, edited in Lightroom, & recorded with my Nikon D5100. I accidentally left some videos out, but this was a decent first attempt at “videography”.
What’s next on TB? + Camera Rambling
Next up, photos from my week vacation in the Bahamas with my family & Josh, a video of some of it, & more food pictures & recipes.
If you’re following me on Instagram, you already know that I recently upgraded my Nikon D5100 to the D5300. It’s real-soulmate-kind-of-love at first click! I don’t normally give names to my belongings, but my new baby will be given the wonderful & most beautiful name: Honey Boo Boo. I know, it’s beautiful, I shed tears too. If you’re curious to see how the D5100 compares to the D5300, there’s a website for that.
Josh is inheriting my D5100, so I’m giddy about our future hiking trips & picnics together – perfect opportunities to teach him how to use his new camera. I know that my upgrade wasn’t to a full-frame DSLR or to a better entry-level DSLR, but I feel as someone who isn’t looking to go pro & doesn’t have the disposable income to buy a full-frame DSLR, it’s not really feasible. Also, the swivel screen on the D5300 is a bigger selling point to me (overhead shots, baby!) than a clunkier & nearly similar D7100. My dream full-frame DSLR has a swivel screen, so make it happen Nikon!! We all dream of swivel screens.
