Stonehenge

Last Sunday, Olivia & I visited Stonehenge after Salisbury Cathedral. Afterward, we went onwards to Bath, one of the most beautiful cities in England. It rained on & off at Stonehenge with strong winds. If you’re unfamiliar with this historical monument, here’s an excerpt from Wikipedia:

Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in the English county of Wiltshire, about 2.0 miles (3.2 km) west of Amesbury and 8 miles (13 km) north of Salisbury. One of the most famous sites in the world, Stonehenge is composed of a circular setting of large standing stones set within earthworks. It is at the centre of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England, including several hundred burial mounds.

It’s one of the most mysterious monuments in existence & has been around since 3100 BCE. Archaeologists believe that it was used as a ceremonial burial site, but there’s much more to the stones that continues to perpetuate its enigma today.

You can view an HD video I recorded of Olivia experiencing some first world problems at Stonehenge. We took a ton of pictures at Bath, so I’ll post those pictures later. Instead of checking back randomly hoping there’ll be a new post, subscribe to my RSS feed or follow me on Bloglovin’!

Radcliffe Camera

Since we took so many pictures on Saturday from our adventures at Windsor & Oxford, I made two different albums for the two different places. Likewise, I’ve also split up Sunday, which consisted of Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge, & Bath. Stonehenge & Bath pictures will be added later. Why do I even bother explaining these things? No one cares – you guys just want to see pictures. Hover over the pictures for captions. Not like anyone will read this paragraph anyway. There’s a 30% chance that it’s already raining.

Sara & me at Eton College

Olivia & I went on a tour to Stonehenge, Bath, & Salisbury Cathedral yesterday & counted the number of pictures I took. Just from that day alone, I accumulated 610+ pictures. I haven’t even gotten to the Oxford pictures we took on Saturday either. This is probably the most my camera has ever been used within two weeks. Talk about one of my best investments of 2011. All right, just like last time, I’ll post a few random pictures so you’ll stare at my website for longer than 5 seconds. Hover over the pictures to see a caption.
