There’s a perfectly good explanation for my absence & the belatedness of this Ma Belle Vie / A Day in the Life post: I was in Bogotรก, Colombia for a gorgeous destination wedding. Those pictures may actually appear in the gallery before any of my previous photos from the holidays of 2014. DAVIDsTEA ran a really fun promotion on St. Patrick’s Day, which meant its downtown location was really packed. Can you guess what got so many people jammed into the store? Free tea if you’re wearing green. The line was out the door & people were stoked about getting free teas just for wearing a bit of green. It didn’t matter if the customers were homeless, foreigners, non-tea drinkers, long time customers, or randoms strangely demanding for “regular tea”–we carry over 150 teas, so what in the world is “regular” tea??–we served them all! Hot or iced, sweetened or unsweetened, free teas were served. The best part of my job is talking about tea & showing people that it can be for everyone, you just have to give it a chance.
XO VoxBox
Influenster determined that I qualified for a VoxBox & sent me their XO VoxBox! Last year, they sent me a Vitality VoxBox, but this year, my XO VoxBox was strangely everything I really needed. I didn’t think it would be that great, but boy, was I wrong.
Tell Me About Dem Products, Doe!
Free products are cool, but these opinions are my own. I am choosing to blog about it on my own accord.
John Frieda Frizz Ease » You know how most shampoos will talk about how they do XYZ, but they really don’t do squat? Yeah, that’s not at all what John Frieda is about. Wherever that man’s name graces a product, I’m inclined to trust what it says it does because these products are tiny miracles in tiny bottles. My frizzy hair (thanks 21-year-old me who thought dying/killing my hair was a good idea) was beyond smooth as stated on the tubes. There wasn’t any need to use leave-in conditioner after I used the shampoo + conditioner, so I’m really happy with the products.
9/10 would recommend, only because the hippie-me says I wish it had more natural ingredients.
SkinFix » I’d take a photo of my hands before I used SkinFix, but I don’t want to horrify anyone. Trust me when I say my hands were so dry, it made the Mojave desert look like a smooth oasis. My hands looked like those of an octogenarian who was left out too long in the Arizona heat. With SkinFix, dizzaannGGggG my hands were fixed. Normal 20-something-year-old smooth hands again, woohoo!
9/10 would recommend, because again, I demand dem natural hippie ingredients. There’s nothing wrong with loving nature!
Adore Me » Ladies, I think all of you should check out Adore Me because it works like Shoe Mint & Shoe Dazzle in that you pay a monthly fee & get to pick any item of your choosing to be sent to you. You can skip any amount of months for as long as you’d like, so you’re not forced to pay the monthly fee if it’s not in your budget. The lingerie is really cute/sexy/nice & they have nice bathrobes & pajamas too. I was sent a free one & I have to say, the quality is pretty good.
10/10 would recommend. They have all sorts of different bra sizes so it’s practically guaranteed to fit you without having to pay more.
Colgate Optic White » I really like the toothbrush & its built-in whitening pen. The pen is kind of strange though because you don’t rinse it out the whitening product…sooo that makes my mouth feel awkward. Clearly it’s safe to ingest, but the concept of not rinsing out the whitening product is a little discomforting to me. I haven’t used it 3 days in a row yet, but I can attest to the efficient design of the bristles.
7/10 would recommend. Will update recommendation if my teeth whiten in 3 days. I’m a huge fan of Crest, so let’s see if Colgate can compete. Also, fun fact: if your toothbrush’s bristles are bent & spread-eagled out, you’re brushing your teeth too damn hard. Don’t damage your gums; calm down on the ferocious brushing.
Tide Pods with Febreeze » I love these things. They’re so squishy & fun to play with, but they work some wonders on stains. They also make your clothes smell great!
9/10 would recommend. COME ON, NATURAL INGREDIENTS!!!
Recipes, pictures, & more goodies to come. & by goodies, I mean possssssibleeeeeee giveaway.

I saw couple of the wedding photos on your Instagram, and it looks super gorgeous and wonderful! ^^
I think that was a great tea promotion DavidsTea did for St Patricks day! Tea is definitely something that can be enjoyed by anyone, especially if you find the right tea ๐
I enjoyed seeing your day in photos!
And those are some nice freebies. I’m glad that they were all products you found useful ๐

That’s awesome that DAVIDsTEA gave free tea just for wearing green ๐ That’s too bad there aren’t any locations here. I was wearing green for St. Patrick’s Day!
I love the look of the buildings in your walk home, and I went to Quincy Market the last time I was in Boston! I remember seeing Wagamama several times when I was in London, but I didn’t try it over there either.
Ooh, SkinFix sounds awesome. I have terribly dry hands during the winter and always have to use hand lotion. I’ll have to check it out! I also like that AdoreMe lets you skip months. I’m looking at the site now, and they have a lot of great styles ๐
Looking forward to the new recipes and pictures!

Aw it is too bad! It wouldn’t surprise me if Houston is next on their list to open up. It would heavily compete with that other tea store that’s down there, but I’m sure it’ll survive. If Pepsi can be sold in Atlanta, I don’t see why DT can’t come to Houston. DT has a website you can order from & they have lots of exclusive online deals! I recently ordered some tea from the online store actually (couldn’t get it in the store).
South End is really gorgeous & has that European brownstone charm. ๐ I love my walks too hehe. Wagamama is .. well, let’s just say you didn’t miss out. You’ve been to Japan, you know what’s up.
I vow by SkinFix. Just used it today & my dried Mojave desert hands are saved. AdoreMe is really nice, yes! Lets you skip up to 2 months I think too, but you could pretty much skip forever if you wanted. I love that you can order your true bra size & not worry about whether or not they even make it in your size. I have a cousin who has to pay more for her bras at Victoria’s Secret because her size is significantly larger than the average boob. All the same price at AdoreMe!
