Heyyyyy girl heyyy. It’s been a minute, I’m very well aware. I wonder how many times I’m going to start my posts with some sort of apology & a haphazard explanation for my absence. Probably forever until the Zombie Apocalypse hits to be honest, but let’s hope it doesn’t get to that. But in case any of you need a safe haven for food, my house in California is stocked for the next 2 years for about 6 people. Shout out to my mom for being a hoarder. Why would anyone need 7 bottles of fish sauce? I don’t know, man, don’t question an Asian mother who finds a good sale. Not exactly down with the 2nd amendment though, so don’t come here thinking you’re going to find guns to defend yourselves. Plenty of great Global knives though. Should I invest in a katana? Maybe. Enough of my aside, let’s get to the point of this post. It’s Friday & I’m hanging out with my fam in California. Instead of working on things for my future, I’m editing pictures from months/years ago. When are you ever going to see my cousin’s wedding photos? I don’t know, check back in 3 years. For now, y’all can salivate over these photos of food my friends & I ate while we were in Montreal for my birthday this year! Pretty sure editing these photos just inspired me to plan another trip to Montreal next year when the Biodome is open.

You know how sometimes you want to update your website, but you really have no idea what to write about? No? Before I evolved TB to center around recipes, I used to post pictures everyday (sort of) without anything more than a simple caption of what your eyeballs were glancing at. Now that I’m forcing myself to write something witty & interesting with every post, I can no longer do food photo dumps without some purpose. This has led to a bunch of my photos sitting on my computer from last year & beyond, unseen by my regular visitors. Well, one of my solutions is to simply create a new series that will be more specific to an all encompassing theme. Foodie Fridays will be my food dump days, so I guess there might not be a real point to any of these future posts other than to tell you about some restaurants, grocery stores, or how good/bad/mediocre the food I consumed was. Since not too many people visit a food blog to read anything, Foodie Fridays will fully appreciate the, “wow, this post is making me hungry & my desk has accumulated some drool from my mouth,” comments more than ever!

Kaitlen, Mercedes, & me |
Now that I’ve signed a lease for a place in Westwood, I can stop stressing about couch surfing at my brother’s & enjoy the rest of my summer until school begins. Lots of projects I need to finish before school gets out of control though. Not going to bore you with my to-do list, so here are a bunch of pictures from Europe.

What better way to start off this post with a picture of food we ate in France? We went a few weeks back, but I just finally got around to posting the 500+ pictures. The most image heavy being the Paris album since we went there on Bastille day. Pictures from Venice, Rome, & London later. I have a paper, presentation, & learning journal to complete by Thursday. I’m also adventuring to Amsterdam & Belgium this weekend. Like always, hover over the pictures for a caption.

Soleil (translates to sun), a French-Canadian restaurant in Westwood, did not disappoint at all. Their poutine was filling & delicious. Their pumpkin ravioli & creamy sauces were flavorful without knocking out your taste buds with a blast of cream & salt. On the weekends, they have bottomless mimosas for $15! Those French-Canadians really put the best twist on fries. I’m really glad Alex was game to come try this restaurant out with me when he came to visit me in Westwood!
